Laura Marino
Associate Attorney
Laura Marino is an associate attorney at Ratzan and Faccidomo. Born in Bogota, Colombia, Laura is fluent in Spanish and English.
Laura attended Florida Atlantic University, where she obtained a Bachelors degree in Sociology with a minor in Criminal Justice. While at FAU, she interned at the Broward Public Defender’s Office in the homicide and mental health division.
Laura is a cum laude graduate of St. Thomas University Benjamin Crump College of Law.
While in law school, Laura co-founded and became President of the Colombian American Student Bar Association. Laura was also an active member of the distinguished St. Thomas Law Trial Team competing in state and national competitions. In October 2022, Laura received an honorable mention at the Georgetown White Collar Crime Invitational competing amongst sixteen of the top advocacy programs in the nation. Laura also competed in the prestigious Chester Bedell Mock Trial Competition helping place STU law as one of the top 25 mock trial programs in the country.
During law school, Laura worked as a legal assistant/law clerk at Ratzan and Faccidomo and interned at the Miami Dade Public Defender’s Office as a Certified Legal Intern in the jail division.
After law school, Laura was awarded the “Up and Comer Award” at the Annual Hispanic Women of Distinction ceremony. This is an award given to Latina professionals who are opening pathways for other Latinas.
Upon becoming an attorney, Laura returned to the Miami Dade Public Defender’s Office as an Assistant Public Defender where she gained invaluable experience trying jury and bench trials and handling a variety of cases.
Laura takes pride in her ability to connect with her clients while zealously advocating for them.
